About

New Media students gain technical expertise in the contemporary tools used in design, video editing, video game creation, animation, special effects, immersive media and creative coding. Coursework and program activities are grounded in developing a student’s fundamental knowledge of new media practices, history and theory, as well as visual communication skills.

Students can choose between three tracks. In Digital Media, you can hone your skills in things such as graphic design, game design and animation. In Entrepreneurship, in addition to New Media courses, you will take courses in the Business program. In Digital Journalism you will learn journalistic skills by adding English classes to New Media options.

The New Media Technology Program prepares students with technical competence, aesthetic judgment, and a strong commitment to design quality as they pursue an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on developing individual creativity, critical thinking, and an understanding of the current tools used in the field of new media.
