Do I have to submit immunization/vaccination records? All students, both degree and non-degree, must submit an immunization record before being able to register for classes. LaGuardia Community College requires proof of MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) immunity as well as a completed Meningitis Response form.
What should I do if I don’t have proof of immunization? If you don’t have proof but you have had the MMR shots in the past, you can get a blood test and have your doctor fill out this
immunization form. Additionally, if you graduated high school in New York State, you can get a copy from your high school. If you are an NYC public high school graduate, LaGuardia can access your high school immunization record, which can be used as an acceptable form of proof of immunization.
Can I transfer my immunization to/from another CUNY School? If you are transferring from another CUNY school, LaGuardia’s Health Center will be able to look up your immunization records in CUNYfirst. Other CUNY colleges can see your LaGuardia information as well.
Can the immunization requirement be waived based on a medical or religious exemption? Medical or religious exemptions must be filed 30 days prior to the start of classes. Please contact the Health Services Center at
Health-Center@lagcc.cuny.edu for more information. Note: Request exemptions early, so your course registration is not delayed.
Am I required to get the meningococcal meningitis vaccination? The meningococcal meningitis vaccination is not a requirement. However, submitting the
meningitis response form is required. The purpose of the form is simply to establish that you received information on the meningococcal disease and the available vaccine.
Who do I tell if I test positive for COVID-19? Please review the guidelines for
reporting positive cases.
