The Industrial Design Technology Program at LaGuardia
Community College is growing and seeks a design technician to support this
growth. The primary responsibilities of the technician are to provide
maintenance and support to design and fabrication operations in the workshops,
design studios and C.A.D. computer laboratories. The individual should have
strong traditional design fabrication knowledge and experience using hand
tools, power tools and machine tools. The technician should also be experienced
in Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing and digital fabrication
techniques, including laser cutting, 3.D. printing, C.N.C. operations and microcontroller
prototyping using Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi.
This is a part-time position.The position will be based at LaGuardia Community College located at 31-10 Thomson Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101.
