Begin your legal interpreting career by earning a LaGuardia certificate. Admission to the program is dependent on passing the Legal Interpreter Screening. If you already have legal interpreting experience, take your career to the next level by preparing for the New York State Court Interpreter Exam with our exam preparation course.

COURSES


Legal Interpreter Screening (SPA/ENG)

Pass this diagnostic exam before registering for the Legal Interpreter Certificate Program. Nonrefundable testing fee applies. ND


Spanish-English Interpreting (LEGAL)

Learn the skills required to deliver accurate interpretation in legal settings. You will study interpreting techniques, legal terminology, and the U.S. legal system through role-playing and group discussions. You'll also prepare to take the Court Interpreter Exam for the New York State Unified Court System. Upon successful completion of the program, you will earn a LaGuardia certificate of completion.ND Prerequisite: High school diploma or equivalency and passing of English and native language proficiency tests. ND
