  • Begin a career in the electrical field with this hands-on training, which prepares you for entry-level positions. The program includes OSHA 30 Hour certification and uses the industry recognized National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Construction Core and Electrical Level 1 curricula.

    LaGuardia is an NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    Prerequisites

    • High school diploma/equivalency or related work experience
    • At least 18 years of age
  • COURSES

  • Electrical 1 & Plumbing 1 Information Sessions

    Find out how you can begin or advance a career in the electrical and plumbing fields. Attend an Electrical 1 and Plumbing 1 Information Session and learn about the curriculum, industry certifications earned after successful completion of our training programs, and potential scholarship opportunities. You will be asked to complete a virtual assessment as the first step in the application process. Attendance at an information session is required before registration. 


  • Electrical 1

    Begin a career in the electrical field with this hands-on training course. You will learn about construction safety, construction math, and electrical theory and drawings. You will also study introductions to electrical circuits, National Electrical Code, device boxes, hand bending, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, electrical test equipment and more. The course includes OSHA 30 hour certification as well as 10 Hour Site Safety Training and uses the industry recognized National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Construction Core and Electrical Level 1 curricula. Tuition includes cost of books and materials. Payment plan available. Hybrid program with didactic training online and hands-on training to be held at Positive Workforce, Inc., 109 East 125th Street, New York, NY.   • Electrical 2

    Advance your career in the electrical field with this hands-on training course. You will learn about fundamental concepts; theory and application on motors; alternating current; electric lighting; cable trays; grounding and bonding; pull and junction boxes; and conduit bending. You’ll also be introduced to conductor installations, terminations and splices, circuit breakers, fuses and control systems. The course uses the industry recognized National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Electrical Level 2 curriculum. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Electrical 1 or equivalent education and experience. Cost of books and materials included in course fee. Payment plan available.
