    Cybersecurity Specialist

    Begin a career in this evolving field. Topics include cybersecurity fundamentals, systems and network security, vulnerability assessment, and security operations. Get hands-on training in a virtual lab and prepare for the industry recognized CompTIA S+ exam. This course is appropriate for IT professionals who want continued career progression or novice learners. Upon successful completion of this course, you will earn a LaGuardia certificate of completion. Recommended: Computer and Network Service Technician Certificate Program or equivalent experience.     SOC Analyst

    Gain in-depth understanding about this high demand profession. Learn how to detect different types of cyberattacks; identify threats and vulnerabilities; maintain data and monitor security access; and analyze and respond to hardware/software weaknesses through our virtual lab.     Penetration Testing (Cybersecurity)

    Master the methodology that is used in ethical penetration testing or hacking situations. Topics include information gathering, vulnerability detection, physical security attacks and post-exploitation techniques. Upon successful completion of this course, you can take the CompTIA PenTest+ exam and will earn a LaGuardia certificate of completion. (Cost of eTextbook and exam included in course fee.) Prerequisite: Successful completion of Fundamentals of Cybersecurity course or passing of a screening exam or CompTIA N+ and CompTIA S+ certification along with 2 years of IT work experience.     Intro to Python

    Become familiar with one of the most popular programming languages in this hands-on course. Learn the basic datatypes, structures, syntax and constructs of Python programming language. Topics include introduction to Python concepts, data manipulation, writing user defined functions, web recon, port scanning, packet sniffing, performing forensic and malware analysis.
